The clarkii is just lying around breathing fast, occasionally moving around spastically but then lying down again. The percula is just hovering in one corner not doing much of anything, and he has pale patches all over his body, areas where the orange is less intense. He didn’t look like that when I bought him three days ago. The tankmates are all healthy, and are as follows: niger triggerfish, spotted puffer, and a blue velvet damsel. Hi. I have a 100 gallon established saltwater aquarium with a volitan lion fish and a snowflake eel (I also had 2 trigger fish but both have died). I want to stock up my tank a bit more to replace the triggerfish. I’ve been looking at marine bettas, gold line groupers, and possibly filefish. I like boxfish and cowfish but heard that they can release deadly toxins and want to know how big of an issue that may become. I also want to get a starfish. I will not be able to upgrade for 10 months due to money issues BUT after that period I WILL be able to buy a much larger aquarium.

My Water parameters are great!

the Nitrites are 0,
the Nitrates are 0,
the Ammonia is 0,
the pH is 8.3,

I have an over sized external filter, a good protein skimmer, and lots of live rock.
I do a 10-25% water change every week and sift the sand every day and clean the glass every other day, I clean the filter once a month, and feed a very varied diet.

Is this OK?

I did not know that Triggerfish and Dog faced Puffers eat small fish when I got them as the pet store did not help me.
I need to know which of my fish I need to re home so the do not get eaten!!!!
