Triggerfish?

Whats the difference between a Humu Picasso Triggerfish from Tahiti and one from Fiji/Maldives. Also if I get two dfifferent kind of triggerfish like a Humu Picasso and a Humu Rectangle Triggerfish mate?

    Ocean temperatures differentiate the Tahiti and the Fiji. One may live at a lower level than the other. Never mate a Picasso with a Rectangle.

    There is no difference except a little of the size and coloration. The Tahiti ones are larger. Yes you can absolutely mate them.

    The Humu Picasso Rhinecanthus aculeatus and the Humu Rectangle Rhinecanthus rectangulus.

    Although slightly different they are basically the same fish with different colors.

    They also grow to the same length around 30 cm. they can both be found thru out the Indo-Pacific so temperatures are not going to matter.

    Chances are however they will not breed with eachother. If that were the case, there would already be a fish species with these two as the parents. like Tangs, triggers are very difficult to breed in a tank.
