    Not a good idea.
Clown triggers are very aggressive and get quite large.
It’s highly likely that the triggerfish would, indeed, harm the clownfish.

I wouldn’t get a clown trigger at all. Clown trigger – In the juvenile stage of their life, clown triggers are nearly impossible to keep, as they have a very high mortality rate. As adults, they are not difficult at all (besides for the fact that they are so aggressive).

when the clown trigger is small, they wont bother the clownfish,

But large adults tend to territoral and nippy so i wouldnt mix them long term.

You realize a clown trigger gets over a foot and a half long. I’d suggest no smaller than 300 gallons… That size fish will most likely kill a clown fish easily.

Personally I have kept these triggers with damsels (and clowns) but I also had anemone in the tank and pleanty of hiding places. Your trigger will rearrange the tank. If you provide housing for your clown, there really shouldn’t be a problem. Add the clown before the trigger.

Also remember it is going to be a while before you will be able to add the trigger to the tank anyway (6 months) you need a mature tank for him. Also he needs to be acclamated slowly (around an hour or more).

All fish are different not all are aggressive that is just their general character.
